Update on what happened to me in the past year

Okay, I know I've been silent for the better part of a year. Why, and what happened? Well, a lot has happened. I've been dealing with a lot of work, taking care of my parents, my own family and everything else that life tossed at me during that time.

Because family is all-important to me, I decided that had to come first, blogging would have to be put on the back-burner until such time I could at least write adequately. If I couldn't speak adequately on something because I didn't take the time to do the research and try to present a moderately fair and balanced debate, then why say anything at all?

Well, I finally have found the time to actually say something I feel is meaningful. I hope to have more time in the future to blog on other political matters as they arise.

So, no, I did not die, nothing horrible has happened (I'm sure that will disappoint Democrats and liberals who dislike and disagree with Republicans like myself), but life did happen and that's what took up my time and attention.

Needless to say, my wife was shocked when I told her that I finally posted something to my blog. She and other friends have been saying to me, "What happened to your blog?" and "You need to update it, dude!" Well, that day has come. Enjoy, and I look forward to any comments that may appear under my posts.

Blog on!

How Death Penalty Opponents are Hypocrites

On January 16, 2006 (Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday) Clarence Ray Allen was executed. He was the second in a string of executions carried out by the state of California, after Crips co-founder Stanley "Tookie" Williams was executed in December 2005.

At that time, people came out in droves to protest Williams' execution, inclduing all sorts of celebrities and well-known folks who came out to speak out in support of Williams. There were people like the self-serving Jesse Jackson and former Crip member-turned rap star Snoop Dog, among others. They all claimed that he had redeemed himself by writing childrens' books speaking out against the gangster life and from his own anti-gang speeches and messages of peace that he had written.

What those leftists forget is that he had killed four people and he never apologized for it. But, noooooo, "He's been reformed! Look at him! He's anti-gang! He's written books for children! Let's nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize!" Additionally, he never apologized for forming the Crips in the first place along with his high school buddy, Raymond Washington. What he created through the Crips has gone far beyond what he can apologize for. That gang has killed and terrorized their own race in their patch of Los Angeles for a long time and it still continues today.

Gee, what a concept, start a murderous gang, commit crimes, land in jail, speak out against the gangsta life and write some books and you get nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize!

If I had known that that was all it took to get such a prestigious prize, I'd have gone out and done the same thing a long time ago!

Okay, I'm getting way off point here, but I had to do a little backgrounder about this whole death penalty thing and how the leftist liberals in the San Francisco Bay Area conveniently apply it.

Flash back to the present, well, after the execution of Clarence Ray Allen.

Two days before his scheduled execution, the local news stations were at San Quentin Village, just outside the prison gates, and there was NOBODY! I mean, not a peep was there except for the talking head for the local station (insert station here). So, if the anti-death penalty people were so serious about it, why weren't they out in force well before Allen's execution? Sure, on the day of the execution there were about 20 or so people protesting, it was nowhere near the same numbers that came out for Stanley Williams.

Why?

Let's do a comparison here:
1) They both were found guilty of murders, Williams directly, Allen through his ordered killings from Folsom State Prison.

2) They had turned spiritual, Allen reverted back to his Native American heritage while Williams found God (or something like that, if I recall correctly).

3) Williams started the Crips, Allen was part of a crime ring in the Central Valley. In other words, they lived a life of crime.

4) Both men claim their minority heritage: Williams is black (oh, excuse me, African-American) while Allen is NOW Native American (whereas before he was a whitey like everybody else in his ilk).

5) They both ended up on death row and got old there.

6) Their clemencies were denied despite the last-ditch efforts of their lawyers.

7) They're both now DEAD!

Okay, that having been said, I think that the reason there wasn't as huge an uproar and turnout for Allen's execution is because he was white. This, I believe, is a load of claptrap. If there are those who are TRULY anti-death penalty, then they should have been out there in the same numbers as they were for Williams's execution. Additionally, for those who want a moratorium on the death penalty, I say "YARBLES! Big bolshy yarblockos to you!" (Who can guess which movie that quote came from?)

I will give credit to the small contingent of people who did show up to protest Allen's execution (at least they DID stand by their convictions and let their actions do the talking), but I just have to shake my head at the rest of those bandwagon liberals who make a lot of noise and not much else. Even Marin county resident Mike Farrell (of M*A*S*H fame) doesn't do a whole lot except make a lot of noise - I just can't take him seriously.

I mean, why wasn't Jesse Jackson out there again to protest Allen's execution? Because he only stands up for the black man! He feels that only the black man has been wronged! He wants justice! Well, here's a thought: Hey, Jesse, instead of showing up for high-profile photo ops, why not actually speak your mind and practice what you preach instead of being selective in what you choose to show up at? All because Williams was black and allegedly did "great things" from behind bars, does that mean that you will speak up for ALL black people who are "unjustly" accused and sentenced to die? Why not speak up for EVERYBODY who is sentenced to die? Oh, gee, I guess you'd be too busy travelling around the country speaking out for every convict that you can't run for office.

And, to accentuate that, Jackson is one of those far-left liberals who only choose those things that will help them shine instead of standing up with true conviction. He and another alleged reverend, Al Sharpton, will seek out only those events that will serve to elevate their status among the Democraps and liberals across the country. But, when it comes to truly meaningful and important matters, they're not likely to be found because if it doesn't involve the mistreatment of blacks or giving free government assistance to them, they're not available.

Liberals, not only do they suffer from convenient amnesia, they also suffer from selectivity. Morons, one and all...
